One Friday night...

POSTED ON: Saturday, June 9, 2012 @ 12:28 AM | 0 comments

It has been a long day, at work, at home, preparing different materials for the students, taking care of my dog, having some rest time, and spending time with my family. To tell you honestly, I never imagined I'd be able to go back here and write something today. After doing all these things, I felt fulfilled. Fulfilled with my life as a daughter, as a teacher, as a simple human. But nevertheless, I can't help but feel sad for humanity. Sad for a few little (kind of immature) reasons.

As I finished watching television a while ago, I felt sad because I suddenly realized how teens nowadays have become hugely engulfed by media, on the way they think and they act. Remember when our national hero said youths are the hope of our country. What happened now? If this is the kind of teens that would dominate our country, how could we still get and reach the dreams we're aiming for as a nation?

Then I shifted to Twitter, and started seeing all these women who scrutinized Myrtle (Yeah, just to remind you I'm not a Myrtle fan but I'm extremely bothered about it) for slapping Yves. Aren't we all women who doesn't wish anything like that to happen to us? Aren't we all women who should be understanding each other? It's just sad how people could be so judgmental and hypocritical these days. They often forget to put their selves on others' shoes. Isn't that the same reason why we all throw fights against each other? Isn't that the same reason why all of us can't put the world into peace?

Weird questions entered my mind. Then I remembered something about friendship - and how some people has the wrong view and definition of it. I'm not saying mine is the correct one but at least this is defined based on the seemingly right ideas. Friendship is not measured by how many days you and your "friend" are together, but its based on how you have been together with your friend by heart. I can superficially say you are my friend because you spend your afternoons with me, but do you really spend it with me? That profound question arises. Think of what it means to you. You can be together, just goofing around, making fun of people, thinking that you're having the time of your life, but after all that, could you share your problems and really be of presence to your so-called-friend? How can a lot of people stand having fake relationships with people and calling it real, still. Friendship is not being always available all the time, but maybe being attentively available all the time. Ironic, it may seem, but I know people reading my blog are smart. They'll know what that means.

When people finally understands what and how friendship really is then maybe that's the only time they can think  fairly and unbiased among all.

Then I finally noticed myself, where am I wrong? I guess for watching Pinoy Big Brother and getting too affected, for releasing my tiredness into an even tiring and senseless problem of getting the world in array. The world will never be in a systematic alignment - it will never be fair and organized. The least we can do as humans is to keep understanding each other, doing the best that we can do to be of service to other people, keeping our positive spirits open and wide, acting as to what we're made to be - humans, and to grasp tightly our faith in God.
